Moisés Nieto

Moisés Nieto is a Spanish designer and the founder of the sustainable fashion brand that bears his name, established in 2011. He graduated in fashion design and pattern making from the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Madrid, and his graduation thesis became his first collection. His early work won him Franca Sozzani’s international competition “My Own Show,” and he went on to present collections at South 36.32N in Cádiz, Museum Fashion Week in Portugal and Mexico’s International Fashion Week. He earned the best new designer award at Madrid Fashion Week, and in 2016 won Who’s On Next by Vogue Spain as well as Spain’s National Fashion Prize.

He expanded internationally from 2014, selling his pieces abroad, and is also the creator of La Hacería, a platform connecting artisans, and collaborates with other brands to generate synergies. Nieto is a firm advocate that sustainability is an essential value in designer fashion and views clothing as a driver of change and communication. His return to the official MBFWMadrid calendar is one of the headline stories of this edition — he had not participated since his show in January 2020. The organisation places him as the opening show on the new Nebrija University venue’s dedicated day.
