Arriving on the heels of his blazing country-rock banger "She’s Good," “Whiskey’s Whisperin’” further reveals the depth and scope of Wisham’s one-of-a-kind musicality.
"‘Whiskey’s Whisperin’’ is unlike anything we’ve done thus far — but crazy enough, it feels like it heads in a direction that shows more of the authentic me!” says the South Carolina-bred musician. “Mixing a little bit of Bieber with some Luke Combs to bring the R&B (Rhythm & Boots) to my music. To that end, “Whiskey’s Whisperin’” finds his voice taking on a sweetly soulful tone as the track unfolds in breezy grooves and high-powered guitar work.
Co-written by Wisham, Miles, Andrew Stoelzingy Zachary Knowles, “Whiskey’s Whisperin’” tells the all-too-familiar tale of a post-breakup bender (from the first verse: “I should head on home/Call it a night/’Cause every round goin’ down/Is another round of you”). In a clever contrast to its heavy-hearted confession, the song’s chorus embodies a knowing humor as Wisham discovers whiskey’s power to bend the truth to his benefit: “Tequila’s tellin’ me we’re through/Beers been beggin’ me to/Move on with someone new…When the whiskey’s whisperin’/You miss me too.” The result: an instant barroom classic and a bold new step for one of country’s most exciting new artists.
The fifth song released from Wisham, “Whiskey’s Whisperin’” is the latest triumph in a growing catalog that also includes his Southern rock-fueled debut "Back Together," the hard-driving "Better Than The Day" (his first feature on Sirius XM's The Highway), and his introspective coming-of-age anthem "Growin’ Up." At just 22-years-old, Wisham has also made his name as an unstoppable live performer, thanks in part to his exhilarating Festival de la CMA debut in June. A powerful new voice in country música, 22-year-old singer/songwriter Brandon Wisham possesses the kind of raw talent that instantly commands the spotlight. Originally from Savannah, Georgia but raised in Williamston, South Carolina, he grew up as the youngest of seven children and took up guitar as a child, then began playing cover shows in local bars when he was just 15. At 19, he wrote his first-ever song — “Pain Won’t Last,” a heartrending track about losing his father to Covid — and quickly landed a global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music and The Core Entertainment. With just four songs out, SiriusXM The Highway named Wisham as a recent “Highway Find.” Wisham also made his CMA Fest debut this year as well as joined Chase Matthew on stage for his Kansas City show.
