BURBERRY

Burberry is the British luxury house founded by Thomas Burberry in Basingstoke in 1856, and it is the largest and most globally significant British fashion brand — a FTSE-listed business with a flagship presence in every major luxury market. The house’s heritage rests on invention: gabardine, patented in 1879, the Trench coat, and the check that became one of the most recognisable motifs in fashion. The brand holds royal warrants and trades on its British provenance, with manufacturing presence in Yorkshire.

Under chief creative officer Daniel Lee, appointed in 2022, the house has re-anchored its collections in British outerwear, utility and craft, foregrounding the trench and tailoring while modernising the brand’s codes. Burberry traditionally closes the London Fashion Week schedule with a show on the final evening, and it has previously staged its finale at outdoor venues including Highbury Fields and Bermondsey’s Nomadic Works. This SS27 listing is the closing show of the season, taking the 19:00 Monday slot at 180 The Strand, classified MW/WW and invitation only.
