The tournament saw 14 of the world’s most skilled players split into two powerhouse teams for an enthralling face-off. Team Miami, led by Derek Jeter, a five-time World Series Champion, with padel great Juan Martin Diaz providing strategic insights, boasted a stellar lineup including court sensation Maxi Sanchez, Alex Ruiz, Momo González, Juan Tello, Federico Chingotto, Martin Di Nenno, and Franco Stupaczuk, each adding their distinct flair and passion to the play. Facing them was Team Reserve, helmed by Wayne Boich with coaching from the promising Jaime “Chipi” Munoz, featuring stars like Juan Lebron, Ale Galán, Coki Nieto, Mike Yanguas, Javi Garrido, Jon Sanz, and Gonzalo Rubio, making for a dynamic and electrifying roster. The tournament also offered padel discovery sessions by partner Discovery Land Company, with Evian ensuring hydration for players and guests alike. The Reserve Cup kicked off on February 8th, with Team Captains Jimmy Butler and Derek Jeter announcing a lineup of top players like Juan Lebrón, Javi Garrido, Federico Chingotto, and Juan Tello. MLB Hall of Famer Derek Jeter was present to support and enjoy the waterfront matches, attracting famous faces from Miami and beyond, including Alonzo Mourning and Daddy Yankee, who enjoyed the action from the plush Richard Mille Reserve Club.
Day 2 saw matches featuring talents like Alé Galan, Jon Sanz, Martin Di Nenno, and Juan Tello, with notable attendees including MMA fighter Yoel Romero and model Vita Sidorkina, all eager to see which team would lead into the tournament’s final day. The weekend culminated in a thrilling Celebrity Charity match followed by the Reserve Cup Final on Day 3, blending padel skill with a spirit of giving. Celebrities like Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber, Kevin and Kate Love, Daddy Yankee, Derek and Hannah Jeter, Udonis Haslem, and others graced the event. A charity match featured Miami Heat’s Duncan Robinson and Alé Galan against actress Claire Holt and Javi Garrido, with Robinson and Galán winning and donating $50,000 to The Udonis Haslem Foundation. Daddy Yankee and Wayne Boich also won their match, contributing to Baptist Health’s Bounce Back for Cancer initiative and the Kichwamba Children’s Foundation in Uganda. A trick shot competition between Derek Jeter and Wayne Boich entertained the crowd, raising $250,000 for the Turn 2 Foundation. In total, the event raised nearly $1.5 million for various charities.
The tournament concluded with the Reserve Cup finals, where Team Miami, under Derek Jeter’s guidance, emerged victorious, clinching the Reserve Cup Presented by Richard Mille trophy and a generous $175,000 prize, while Team Reserve received $75,500. The celebration wrapped up with a closing party in the Richard Mille Luxury VIP boxes, featuring a performance by the Australian electronic duo Night Tales, ending the padel extravaganza on a high note.
