Mr. Larkin

Mr. Larkin is a fashion and lifestyle brand founded in 2007 in San Francisco by American designer Casey Larkin Blond (née Casey Blond). The brand began as a slow-fashion label experimenting with naturally dyed, compostable clothing — dyeing garments with flowers and leftover avocado pits from Mexican restaurants in the Mission district. “People weren’t really knowledgeable about slow fashion or sustainability at that time,” Blond recalls.

After consulting on Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability practices in fashion, Blond came to Copenhagen in 2009 to give a workshop, where she met her husband, Danish الموضة executive Alan Blond. She relocated to Copenhagen in 2010 and, after a maternity break, re-defined Mr. Larkin around a hybrid aesthetic that fuses her Southern-U.S. roots, West Coast ideals, and Scandinavian influences into what she describes as “a strange little universe.”

اليوم, Mr. Larkin operates flagship spaces in Copenhagen and Houston, Texas (opened May 2022 at 1926 Bissonnet St), curating a global edit of independent luxury designers including Rachel Comey, Jesse Kamm, Sophie Buhai, Paloma Wool, and Baserange alongside its own in-house collections. The brand’s core values are thoughtful beauty, intentional design, and a deep sense of community.

Sight Unseen profiled Blond’s Copenhagen apartment, noting how the space mirrors her store interiors — spare but colourful, with a curated mix of contemporary handmade design objects and vintage finds. “In Denmark, they’re like, ‘What is Mr. Larkin?
