Q: how is this New year treating you ?

It’s been wonderful, I can’t complain, been extremely busy working on my music, and few things here and there that I will share when time allows.

Q: are you releasing another single soon?

I’m actually working on my album right now, but I will release some music before that.

Q: Are you working on more reggae and dance music in your next album?

I want my music to be world music in the words of the legendary Cory Rooney, who I will be working with very soon.

Q: What’s your motto or the advice you live by?

Every day is a new canvas on which to paint. You make your own luck , I live by this quote ” Hard work wins over talent , when talent doesn’t want to work Hard”. You get what you put in, period! If you want something, with hard work, dedication and focus, you will get it . You must not give up, everything takes time, there is no such thing as an over night success.

Q: You write all of your own music. Where do you draw inspiration from and what’s your favorite part about the process?

I get inspired by anything and everything. My life, friends’ lives, family, culture, colors, love, art.  When I’m in my emotions I always ask myself “what melody would this be?” and I’ll try and put my feelings to song. Sometimes a catchphrase pops out and then I’ll write a melody to it . Sometimes I dream of a song and wake up humming a melody. The idea manifests randomly and spontaneously and I know that I have to go with it or I’ll lose it.

Q: What are you working on right now?

I’m working on my album at the moment, trying to get the right producers who can deliver the sound I’m after.

Q: What are your musical icons/influences?

Michael Jackson was everything to me. I grew up listening to him, Celine Dion, I don’t think  there is a more pure voice out in the world, and I really like Sia. From her voice to her writing style, I think she is so talented.

Q: Talk to me about your DJing…

Well I am an EDM DJ, and I love electronic music. For me it’s all about the mood and a deep, hypnotic experience with an escape from the real world. Playing those tracks that get you tapping your feet and your heart pounding. Where you feel that you are one with the music without you realizing it. Regardless of our differences, music is our universal language and it unites us.

Q: What other things are you working on beside music ?

At the moment I’m working with a designer Lux on some men’s wear. We are in the early stages of designing and brain storming on looks, colors and styles .

Q: When is your album going to be released?

This summer GOD willing if it all goes according to plan.

Q: Do you get nervous when performing live?

Always, only because I really want to do a good job. I become a different person when I’m on stage, you get this strange energy and feel. It’s amazing!!

Q: Any upcoming collaborations with other artists?

Yes, I have a couple of songs I’m doing with recording artist Gyptian. I am collaborating on some dance songs with an incredible DJ from Israel, DJ Swissa. My amazing producer Arizona Slim knows the sound I need and how to get me to really focused on the art. I’m even more excited about this new Latin record I did with upcoming Latin artist Trinsetta. I think people are going to be very pleased.

Q: What keeps you motivated?

My kids, they are my anchor, my life, my everything. Everyday I wake up with motivation. The fact that I’m alive motivates me.

Q: How do you stay focused on the music ?!

It’s so easy to get distracted but I know what I want and music is life for me . It’s really a matter of priorities, with my kids being first and then my music . My amazing producer Arizona Slim and my good friend Shifta always keep pushing me to stay in my creative zone. I’m very blessed to be surrounded by people who truly love the art of creating good music.
