Welcome to Paris Fashion Week, where we pay homage to the legendary Nina Ricci at 4:00 PM. Born as Maria Nielli in 1883, she was an Italian-born French fashion visionary.
Maria’s journey from Turin, Italy, to France at the age of 12 marked the beginning of her remarkable story. At just 13, she embarked on an apprenticeship in dressmaking, laying the foundation for her illustrious career.
In 1904, she married Luigi Ricci and had a son named Robert. Her lifelong dedication to fashion led her to the House of Raffin in 1908, where her talents shone for decades.
