A graduate of Joshibi University of Art and Design in Tokyo, Akiko further honed her craft at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. Returning to Tokyo, she seamlessly transitioned from a design assistant to a trailblazing designer. In a landmark moment, Akiko launched her eponymous label during Tokyo Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2015, leaving an indelible mark on the fashion landscape.
