There is a certain excitement surrounding every fashion show during Milan Fashion Week, but the fervor surrounding the D.EXTERIOR Show was at a fever pitch. The air vibrated with anticipation and designer Nadia Zanola did not disappoint. Of the 58 runway shows on the #MFW FW 19/20 schedule, this was my absolute favorite
Tailoring and creativity come together in D. Exterior’s Fall Winter 19/20 collection which is marked by metallic gleams, a sophisticated palette and precious materials. The collection presents soft, sophisticated colors and bright tones, alternating with monochromatic looks.
The silver and golden surfaces reflect light effects that enhance the richness of the fabrics: embossed silk multilayers, pleats in silk, and organza give life to a refined elegance in each piece.
The careful choice of materials enriches sportswear practicality as well as adding a sense of refinement. Details and decorations flow into a dance creating a soft embrace between traditional and modern.
D.Exterior has a long history that originated in Brescia in the late 50s with swimwear knit in such a way as to leave much room for imagination. The original workshop was called Maglificio Nadia in honor of the child that would become the soul and the creative mind of the D.Exterior brand, Nadia Zanola. Nadia is a mix of great passion, tenacious study of the product, and an absolute dedication to her work.
In 1984 Nadia assumed the reins of the workshop renaming it Cose di Maglia Srl and launching it successfully on the market internationally. In 1997 she created the D.Exterior brand, a luxury line exclusively for retail stores.
To this day, the workmanship of all the knitwear items, which are the key to the brand, uses the highly skilled Italian labor force. Each garment is washed and cut by hand, packaged and shipped one by one, in search of absolute perfection. Every processing and production phase is carefully controlled.
