The Sensually Chaotic Fall Winter Collection 2019 by Giuseppe Zanotti

It would be hard for anyone to find all through Milano Fashion Week, a more charismatic and friendly shoe designer than veteran Giuseppe Zanotti. A friendly and outgoing person who hosts visitors, clients and press with a liveliness that is a signature just as the style of his works.

Giuseppe Zanotti

Giuseppe Zanotti greeted us personally as we entered the rooms in Via Montenapoleone, symbol of luxury fashion in the city. Known for the architectural design, the jewellery to decor the shoes and his legendary curved wedges, Giuseppe Zanotti ’s collection had that little extra that pushes his shoes a step ahead of the competition.

As he invites us to a new collection we notice that on the outside it is following all the new trends for 2019, like animal print, glamorous glitter and neon, especially animal prints are repeated on different styles, even in the bags collection. But there is something that differentiates this collection specifically.

The new fall/winter collection 2019  is “sensually chaotic”, Zanotti says. It is very true. It is elegant, but it is also wearable and outgoing. His attempt to elicit new emotions could be felt in the air. Guests at the presentations were particularly interactive, happy and elevated the happening as one of the most remarkable presentations during Milano Fashion Week 2019.

Two are the main themes for this collection: graphic and geometric, and textured and exotic. Graphic and geometric enters around classical shapes, circles, blossoms and discs with unexpected proportions. The textured and exotic reimagines animailer with printed animal motifs, mainly zebra, giraffe and leopard on rich pony skin. It mixes with suede, patent or python and is embellished with crystals and stones.

The Zanetti collection is a disruptive collection that relies on a rigorous research of materials, shapes and colors. Bold colors but also silver and gold, proportioned silhouettes and medium heels accompany gorgeous decolletées and evening sandals.

And here is the great differentiation: this collection looks at streetwear as a revolution that luxury shoes cannot ignore. So he chooses from skate culture, even when he designs his new Blabber and he applies new rules of streetwear to his luxury collection. Of course, famous for his sneakers, there will be new reworked models in new materials and updated proportions.

Many details in his new styles are borrowed from the streetwear impact, as the designer realises that it has changed the pattern in choosing shoes: new materials, neon colors, and that sense of comfort have to pass cross streetwear and enter new realities. It’s a challenge. Sneakers are probably a bit easier to design, and Zanotti is trying to convey the same emotion on heels. But don’t be fooled, to have that wearability, there is quite a technological concept behind every single choice.

Topping the collection for night, there are beautiful sandals with oversized flowers made of Swarowski crystals. Each flower takes days to be completed.

Day shoes with lace-ups, block heels and slightly square toes head to be comfortable and pair well with the boots, that are balanced with engaging shapes.

If you are more of an audacious fashionista, then the platform pump has been reimagined with a slightly sloped shape to amplify sensuality and is your best choice. Platform shoes are inspired by Lady Gaga, that has been seen wearing Zanotti platform boots and shoes at many red carpets for many awards. Blessed to be chosen by artists of that level, Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez have both been seen wearing Zanotti’s shoes, it comes as no surprise that this collection have some rock and roll vibes.

And maybe it is also the best way to describe this collection: a contemporary sophisticate collection with a rock and roll soul.
