The combination of these two materials creates a thick layer that’ll be protective to the nail and can be sculpted over the natural nail. The acrylic polish becomes harder the longer it’s exposed to the air, meaning it has to be applied at a quick enough rate to avoid it drying out too quickly. Gel Nail Extensions

The fact that they are more durable and last longer is among the important details you should know about gel nails. Gel nails are made from a process of similar steps as acrylics mentioned above. There are two options of how to form the nails. The first one involves gluing on plastic nail extensions to apply the gel over the top of. The other method involves using a paper-form to build the nail extension. The paper-forms must be folded properly, and then the bottom of the form needs to be attached on the nail. The first gel should applied according to the paper-form to create the tip. When your tips are ready, the gel gets applied in an even coat, which it can then be filed and cleaned which you can start to apply your color gel polish to.
Fiberglass or Silk Nail Extensions
One of the lesser-known approaches to doing nail extensions is using fiberglass or silk nail extensions. These nails have a process that begins with cutting pieces of the fiberglass or silk to the nail bed or tip of the nail. They need to be sealed to the natural nail using a glue or resin. Once these extensions are applied, you can start to coat them to build up the faux nail. This process is a bit more tedious than other since you need to be very careful with the silk or fiberglass.
