On many aspects, Julia Colléaux is an extraordinary woman. She has worked with the best of the industry (Swarovski, Givenchy…) as an Artistic or Creative Director. She is a DJ and has set the dance floors of Paris, Seoul, and Miami on fire. She is a dancer and has found validation in a solo show at the renowned Louvre museum. She is an actress as well and has already starred in feature and independent shortfilms. Above all however, Julia Colléaux is now Eli Grita.
In 2010, after an epiphanic reading of Jodorovsky’sDance of Reality, Julia decides to fly to Mexico, setting all matters aside in an urgent quest for change and meaning. There, she discovers a new culture, new aesthetics, and a new self. Following the shamans, she enters an initiatory journey that will reveal to her Eli Grita, “she who speaks loud and clear”.
Back in France, Julia soon starts making bags, but not just any bags. Inspired by her Latin-American stay and Jodorowsky’s approach, she designs leather goods fully conscient of the meaning transmitted by the colours and shapes she uses. Mindful of the impact her activity has on the environment, Julia decides to adopt an upcycling method, using excess leather from the most prestigious brands (Hermès, Louis Vuitton…). These gorgeous bags –all handmade in France–give birth to Eli Grita, the brand. The stylish vibrant colours and the instantaneously recognizable design become a fast success, and soon big names of the fashion industry approach Julia for collaborations. Over the course of the next two years only,the brand Eli Gritahad a few collaborations: with the Galeries Lafayette as a performing artist, as a makeup label with Bourgeois, and as a footwear brand with Bocage, to name a few.
The success of the brand convinces Julia that she is onto something and realises it is time to create innovative and different garments. Thusis born the POWER JACKET. An aptronym that perfectly describes what these jackets meanother than their vibrant looks.Each POWER JACKET is carefully designed to reveal and elevate the power that is dormant within us. Made of a combination of red silky fabrics, intense indigo taffetas, and luxuriant silk velvets, the POWER JACKETS also feature geometric shapes that aim at enhancing and channelling the energy found in our chakras. Wearing them is a transformative experience, both in and outside. As she develops and extends her range of jackets, Julia realises that her true goal through Eli Grita is not just to give us back our power, but to give us access to the one true luxury: the luxury to be ourselves.

The new collection had a memorablekick-offduring Fashion Week in the Parisian concept store NOUS. The launch featured a pop-up shop with a daring scenography and a both unique and ambitious presentation of tops, jackets, jumpsuits, and leather goods. All dedicated toboth women and men to reveal themselves to the world, as is the mission of Eli Grita by Julia Colléaux.
