The 13th Annual Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance


The 13th Annual Boca Raton Concours D’Elegance ran from February 22nd through the 24th with all proceeds benefiting The Boys and Girls Club of Broward County. The weekend started with an afternoon press conference at Boca Resort that including special guest – Jay Leno, founders – Rita & Rick Case of The Rick Case Automotive Group, President & CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County – Brian Quail, and the host of the TV show Chasing Classic Cars – Wayne Carini. The conference followed with a preview of classic cars on display.

Friday evening kicked off the duPont Registry Live Hangar Party at Atlantic Aviation in the Boca Raton Airport with celebrity guest, Jay Leno.  Guests had access to amazing cars, private jets, motorcycles and premier vendors. There were gourmet tastings from over 20 of South Florida’s finest restaurants and included fine wines, spirits, and live entertainment. Restaurants included: A Alexander; Abe & Louie’s; BGCBC Culinary; Boca Raton Resort & Club; Café Med; Crazy Uncle Mike’s; Enerbee; Loch Bar; MEAT Eatery Boca; Oceans 234; Ouzo Bay; Potions in Motion; Sette Bello; Sette Mezzo Ristorante; Tanzy; Taverna Opa; Temper Grille; Bloomers Frose and more.

Saturday started with morning seminars including: Bentley – The First 100 Years Presented by Rubén Verdés, and CCCA – What We’re All About – Presented by Jay Quail – the Executive Director and CEO of The Classic Car Club of America (CCCA). The evening followed with a cocktail hour, Grand Gala Dinner, Auction & Show with a performance by Jay Leno. Guests also enjoyed the presentation of the National Automotive Manufacturer Lifetime Achievement Award to Mercedes-Benz USA President & CEO, Dietmar Exler, National Automotive Dealer Lifetime Achievement Award to Rick Hendrick, Chairman and Owner of the Hendrick Automotive Group and Hendrick Motorsports and National Automotive Racing Lifetime Achievement Award to Ryan Hunter-Reay.

Sunday morning started with a private Q&A brunch hosted by Jay Leno from the “Jay Leno’s Garage” TV Show and Wayne Carini host of Chasing Classic Cars. After brunch Jay Leno walked the field greeting guests and meeting the automobile and motorcycle owners in search of his favorite car and motorcycle to present the Jay Leno “Big Dog Garage Award”.

The amazing weekend continued with the all day event: Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance automobile and motorcycle exhibition sponsored by Rick Case Automotive Group. Guests from around the enjoyed the showcase with over 200 cars and motorcycles from many different eras. Celebrity Judge Jay Leno joined an expert panel of judges including Chief Judge Dr. Paul Sable and Steve Moskowitz, Executive Director of AACA and Jay Quail, CCCA Executive Director. Additionally, Grand Marshal Wayne Carini, host of Chasing Classic Cars joined the group for another stellar year along with Master of Ceremonies Bill Rothermel and Tom duPont. The judges selected the finest vintage, antique, classic and exotic vehicles based on period, presentation and style.

VIP-ticketed guests were invited to enjoy a selection of gourmet food, wine and cocktails from more than 20 of South Florida’s finest restaurants at the Concours d’Gourmet Pavilion. Guests had the opportunity to see “Wheels From The Heart” donate their 100th car to a single mother (a member) from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County. Steven Muschlitz founded Wheels From The Heart which gives single moms in need a vehicle to get a job, drive to school and do all of the things we do every day with an automobile.
