On April 29th, 2024, the community of Atlanta and fans from across the country converged at Berkmar High School to partake in the 7th Annual Huncho Day. This much-anticipated event, replete with celebrity sports games, extensive community outreach, and robust fundraising efforts, was orchestrated by Grammy-nominated artist and philanthropist Quavo, in partnership with Quavo Cares and The Rocket Foundation.

This year’s Huncho Day transcended a mere celebration of sports, evolving into a significant community gathering with the dual aim of celebrating unity and raising funds and awareness for gun violence prevention. The event effectively harnessed the power of sports and community spirit to engage attendees in a meaningful dialogue about making tangible changes within their own communities.

A Day of Sports, Music, and Community Engagement

Held at the very grounds of Quavo’s alma mater, the event attracted a crowd of 4,000 attendees, turning the day into a sold-out extravaganza that raised $50,000 for The Rocket Foundation. The day kicked off with a football combine, which set the stage for an action-packed schedule. This included a celebrity flag football game and a thrilling basketball game between Team Huncho, coached by Quavo and LSU’s basketball champion Flau’jae Johnson, and their rivals coached by comedian Druski and Atlanta Falcons’ Ray-Ray McCloud.

The flag football game saw Team Druski versus Team Huncho in a friendly yet competitive match, with Quavo walking away as the MVP of the game.
