Can you share with us your background and your career?

As a multicultural female in a key management role, I am usually perceived as very ambitious and successful.  But I’d be lying if I said I did not face my own set of challenges in my career.

My first few years after I moved to the United States were not easy.  But I quickly realized that the key to success is to surround yourself with like-minded people, set the right goals, and stay consistent on the message of how to achieve those goals.

If there is one thing my job as a marketing director at Virtudesk taught me is that teamwork is everything.

First I focused on hiring the right people and creating a structure for the marketing department, I realized that we needed to have a few teams that will be working on different types of marketing projects such as email marketing/copyright, social media platforms – content creation, lead mining – research, and PR team – event management, each team having its own team lead.

This structure allowed me to grow the team faster and stay focused on the company’s growth.

The next priority was to create a healthy work environment for my team members.

We developed a reporting system and various SOPs to ensure that our performance can be tracked and that our team members can be held accountable for the progress they make. I’ve been fortunate to have an exceptional team of sixteen highly qualified virtual assistants who help our company meet its ambitious marketing goals.

What makes your company stand out from others that are in your space?

Virtudesk is a virtual assistant company. Since 2016 we have been helping business owners and entrepreneurs to leverage their businesses with the help of our highly-trained virtual assistants based in the Philippines. We developed an in-house time tracking tool for our clients and their virtual assistants, and we also provide cyber security insurance.

I think what sets us apart is that we do care about our Virtual assistants. We provide employment benefits, health insurance and paid time off.

In 2021 alone, Virtudesk achieved 162.53% company growth, and our 3-Year Growth is 454%.

During the pandemic many people lost their jobs and livelihood, how did your company adapt and pivot during this time to be what it is today?

We believe our employees are assets to the company so instead of laying people off, we kept them on payroll and made sure they can still provide for their families.

This was a major test for the company but we were able to adapt and pivot. It was a great decision because our client sign-ups have significantly increased and we continued hiring people.

Then in the year 2021, we experienced the biggest company growth, allowing Virtudesk to be one of the Inc. 5000’s fastest-growing companies in the US.

If you could go back and talk to your younger self what would you tell her and why?

I would tell myself to always prioritize my own needs and goals. Mistakes are making you stronger and you won’t achieve anything without making them, learn from these mistakes and always stay focused! You are strong, fearless and can achieve anything in your life.

Are you working on any exciting new projects now?  

We have multiple exciting projects going on right now. One of them is a new company website, I worked closely with the IT team to ensure that our UX/UI designer is producing quality content. Currently, we are working on SEO and website optimization so we can rank better on Google.

Most of our projects for this year are connected with marketing and PR, right now we are focusing on creating a TV commercial and having more TV interviews this year. Also, we are working on long-term and short-term partnerships with influencers and other big names in the industry.

Where do you see your company going in this new year and in the future? 

I truly believe that this year is gonna be amazing for my company and we are gonna expand our services into new industries. We will continue to set and reach our goals in the future.
