Moreschi was born in 1946 in the lovely town of Vigevano, the heart of Italian shoemaking, thanks to the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of Mario Moreschi. Now the exclusive brand opens the spring-summer 2019 with a new sneaker celebrating Mario Moreschi’s son, Gian Beppe, who’s been leading the company for more than 65 years and with his charismatic wit has taken the brand to its consecration internationally.
This is how the sneaker GBM is born: a total white deer leather shoe included in both men’s and women’s collections that pays tribute to the president showing his signature as a company logo on the upper of the shoe.
Moreschi’s sneaker evolves from its classic nature and suits men and women of all ages. It sanctions the meeting between craftsmanship and streetwear. This sneaker aims to conquer the international market with its gritty charm that breaks the strict rules of the classics and praises a more versatile contemporary style. The version for the women’s collection is embellished with metallic details.
For spring-summer 2019 the keywords for Moreschi are: very soft, very light, portable, sportive and celebrative of the 80ies. Shoes are elegantly hand-sewn, and have an inner lining made of a soft breathable sponge to make the fit even more pleasant.
Strong and defined colors as red, blue and white, that come directly from the wardrobe of sportsmen, with particular attention to tennis. A curiosity about the tennis shoes: the tape used to wrap the handles of the rackets, becomes a style detail both for the upper and for the inner lining, reinterpreting the Moreschi logo in a geometric key. You can see it also on the backpacks.
Men’s shoes are incredibly light and flexible. Even the most classics like monks, drivers, penny loafers and boats can be fold on the backside and transform into more informal everyday shoes.
The women’s spring-summer collection as the men’s collection does not resist the call of the 80ies and its charme. We find a unisex approach made of ultra soft leather, flat sandals as well as feminine high heels, with interwoven leather and in fabric, which refer to a retro approach, but at the same time is a contemporary and refined style. The Moreschi woman spring-summer 2019 is all charme and explosion of refinement thanks to materials like metallic and faux-croco combined with a sophisticated footwear silhouette.
BesTrekk is absolutely the avant-guard shoe from the spring-summer collection resulting from the collaboration between Moreschi and the Camera Italiana Buyer Moda (Italian Chamber of Fashion Buyers). A shoe that tells the ability to combine the desire to dare with the quality of the product. An innovative design resulting from the encounter between a sneaker and a hiking boot, a real revolution for the classic brand Made in Vigevano.
A project that pays attention to every detail, starting from its leather, a special calf to which a rubberized film is applied, giving the shoe a very contemporary opaque look, and making it at the same time more resistant to atmospheric agents and wear. Then the original sole, which reminds of the teeth of a shark, and that is super light thanks to the particular rubber compound in which it is made, that guarantees relax and comfort to the fit.
The graphic details are transparent pvc with the Best + logo and the coordinates of longitude and latitude of the Camera Italiana Buyer Moda’s headquarter, elastic laces reminiscent of the climbing ropes and whose motif recalls the letter M of Moreschi. The metal hooks are covered in patent leather for an “all over” color effect.
The President of the Italian Chamber of Buyer Moda Mario Dell’Oglio declared “Camera Italiana Buyer Moda represents the best retail excellence of our country and has become a vehicle for the diffusion of this exclusive project proposed by Moreschi which besides being a guarantee of quality, is a company that is investing more and more resources and energy in research and development to give a contemporary and avant-garde interpretation to tradition”.
BesTrekk is a project created exclusively for “The Best Shops” and will be premiered in elegant boutiques (Spinnaker, Parisi, Russo, Vela Shop, Cuccini) in the most suggestive seaside resorts of Italy (Capri, Portofino, Punta Ala, Porto Cervo and Taormina).
Pictures are partly taken at the Moreschi showroom in Milan, facing San Carlo Square in the very heart of the city, partly comes from the company’s own lookbook, I thank the press team at Moreschi Milano for their support and professionalism.
