Mohegan Sun's Aperitivo hosted by Anne Burrell part of the LIVEHAPPilly series presented by Illy Caffè

On a rainy night at Industry City, we gathered in this incredible space to enjoy a stunning culinary experience. Restaurants Owners and Chefs came along and each present a signature specialty to delight the night with delicious Italian canapés.

Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome from Mohegan Sun and an incredible lemon sorbet.

illy caffè had us in love with the delightful aroma of their coffee beans, as they made delicious espressos, cappuccinos, and lattes.

The iconic celebrity chef Anne Burrell, host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America, had everyone around her elated to finally meet her. She was kind and gracious and she talked about her journey in the industry we got the opportunity to get to know this fantastic advocate for the culinary arts; excellent and vibrant personality with undeniable talent.

In our first encounter with the stands, we got to meet Piccola Cucina by Philip Guardione. With “Piccola Cucina” you can choose from 3 excellent locations in New York and Ibiza. They brought these stunning Arancini Balls.

Next To This Stand, Was Our Beloved Osteria Brooklyn by Chef Raffaele Solinas, Presenting This Exquisite Bruschetta, With Tuscan Sourdough Bread with Prosciutto, Burrata, Red Wine Infused Figs Caramelized Pear, Spiced Honey and Toasted Pine Nuts, Splendid!

We continued the tasting and met the charming Giuseppe Fanelli Executive Chef of tredici NORTH a new modern Italian restaurant in Westchester County, with classic Italian dishes with a new creative spin on them. We enjoyed his Wild Mushroom Bruschetta.

Alidoro was present with chef Jonathan Streep; he presented us Gothamist: prosciutto, lemon basil pesto, sun-dried tomato paste, and fresh burrata on rosemary focaccia… simply SPECTACULAR. A must-try! The team is friendly and kind along with chef Streep. Made us go back and back again.

Stellina Ristorante with chef Fabrizio Facchini along with his team presented us with a Cripsy Stelliina Tuna Tartare, fresh, earthy, and clean. We must go to Long Island with them, curious about what else they have in their restaurant as superb as this tasting.

Osteria 57 with chef Riccardo Orfino and his delicious Zuppa Etrusca, original, comforting and fresh took us instantly to Garfagnana, Italy. His stand was beautifully decorated outdoors.

Chef Thomas Perone from Brooklyn Roots Italian, adopted us, welcoming us to taste the best Pan Friend Meatballs. These have kept us daydreaming ever since.

Aperol Spritz was present as well, to refresh our journey and the most candid manner! We love Aperol!

The fountain of Negroni was sincerely the most interesting element of the bar, presented by Campari, Bulldog Gin, and Cinzano; this cocktail was a must.

Above all, the event was a success! We must thank the organizers, chefs, and staff for this night was a night to remember!

We look forward to covering South Beach Wine & Food Festival in February, 2023.  See you there…
