Metapolis Launch was Out of this World

Miami is known for many of the best event productions in this world. Special event weeks such as Art Basel in Miami Beach / Miami Art Week, Winter Music Conference / Miami Music Week, and Miami Swim Week have solidified Miami as the preeminent special events destination in the USA.

With the aurora of Miami as the cryptocurrency capital of our nation, another special events period has risen to the surface – Bitcoin Week / Miami NFT Week / Miami Tech Month. And if there was one production to set forth Bitcoin Week / Miami NFT Week / Miami Tech Month as a recurring annual city benchmark, then that would be the Metapolis launch at the Frost Science Center in Downtown Miami.

On Saturday, April 2, 2022, Metapolis took over all four floors of the Frost Science Museum. Upon arrival, the all-VIP crowd was guided to a 10-minute introduction video about the metaverse. Then they were treated to a virtual experience inside the Planetarium theatrical dome, where guests could start to picture themselves as avatars and imagine what they might do, and who they might be, in the metaverse.

Following this amusement park-style spectacle, guests were shuttled up to the fourth-floor rooftop, where they were greeted by the human owners of the avatars featured in the introduction video. The IRL avatars welcomed them and ushered them to a full open bar cocktail hour enhanced by the sounds of a live jazz band. At 10:30 pm, the rest of the museum opened up and guests were free to explore the other floors until they arrived at the first and second levels, where the main celebration continued.

Flatbread and slider fare stations, complimentary bars, and electrifying DJ sounds ignited the crowd until 1am.  This was the place where you could rub elbows with who you needed to meet. Notable VIP guests in attendance included: former Vice Mayor of Miami Beach Michael Gongora, Brickell Chamber of Commerce President Evelio Medina, former Vice Mayor of Surfside Tina Paul, Mayor of Boynton Beach, Palm Beach Ty Penserga, Miss International Global 2019 Mary Yasol, and Miami Dade Cryptocurrency Task Force Members:  Omar Blanco, Jorge Cortes, Michael Hall, and Samir Patel

Metapolis was launched to the world as the first Metaverse as a Service (MaaS) platform built on the Unreal Engine, Unity, and the Nvidia Omniverse.   This was a peek into the future, showing the potential of play-to-earn technology, and the impact of brands existing within the digital space. The metaverse is a blank canvas, but brands are shaping it as we speak, and its implications for global communities worldwide – will be literally out of this world. The goal of Metapolis is continuous tech growth, to actively build out ‘entire cities for brands’ and invite the fans into a new level of brand immersion and interaction that will change the perception of digital goods and their capabilities. Metapolis is powered by the leading layer 1 blockchain – Zilliqa, a highly scalable, low cost and environmentally friendly token.

“Metapolis, being the first MaaS platform of its kind, makes it extremely simple for brands to get onto the metaverse and reach a wider audience. With security at the heart of the platform, every city on Metapolis comes with default safety features to keep users safe”

Mohan Kuldeep Ponnada, CEO of Metapolis

According to CoinDesk, following the announcement of the Miami VIP event, Zilliqa ZIL quadrupled in value, earning a 321% increase, which was the category record-breaker for the month. Metapolis x Zilliqa sourced LA agency Spumoni, led by Paul Salem x Jonathon San Pedro x Kat Vivero, who are best known for their celebrity pop-up activations for Lana Del Rey and Harry Styles, and as a member of Bruno Mars’ family. Spumoni teamed up with local expert Arnel San Pedro, owner of UP!|Unparalleled Productions x Entertainment Influencers, who is one of only nine city-approved production vendors, to produce this spectacular Metapolis launch experience.

Special events like these could not be possible without the support of sponsors such as Wodka Vodka and Harleston Green Scotch – two dynamic spirit brands crafted with tender-love-and care, with the intention of embodying exceptional high quality, natural ingredients, and award-winning affordability.

This wasn’t just any spectacular party. Metapolis was THE most unforgettable classy event full of possibilities, engagement and access within The Next Internet. Those who were there will remember being on the cusp of this new chapter of history.
