Ludovica Mascheroni: 4 musts to know about the Italian luxury brand
Fall 2021 marked an important milestone for the Italian luxury brand Ludovica Mascheroni: let’s go through the main changes and upgrades that brought unexpected innovation in Milan’s fashion district.
For quite a while, this eclectic brand has taken its excellence in two realities: fashion and furniture. Like many realities in Italy, they specialize in selected materials and practice their knowledge wherever it applies. To their specialization, Ludovica Mascheroni has also integrated advanced technology. We will soon see how.
To start with, the brand opened its shop in the majestic heart of the Fashion District, right in front of the exclusive Four Seasons Hotel, in elegant Via Gesù, Montenapoleone District. New York Style Guide was invited to the opening, and here is our report.
As you would expect, the location in via Gesù is not just a regular shop. There is so much more than meets the eyes.
Clothing and home are a person’s business card. Offering our idea of home and our idea of clothing is the goal we set ourselves with the opening of the boutique in Via Gesù. We wanted to call this project “The Apartment” because, just like in a home, it is possible to find both clothes and furnishings and because here we want to convey the feeling of entering not a simple shop but a real home,
stated Fabio Mascheroni, owner and founder of the brand together with his wife Roberta Caglio.

1- The Apartment Boutique and Basement
Don’t let the name fool you: this is no ordinary boutique. This is at the same time a shop, a showroom and a home that definitively consecrates the double soul of the Ludovica Mascheroni brand: luxury home decor and couture, in constant dialogue and continuous contamination. A single concept in a single address, where beauty, well-made, excellence, technology, Italian craftsmanship and great attention to detail find their maximum expression.
Not just a shop, but a real home, an apartment where you can find unique items and garments made by the skilled hands of the company’s artisans. Everything bespoke, from clothes to furnishings, to offer maximum customization. An experience to be lived with the right time, without haste, and at 360 degrees, immersed in a welcoming atmosphere, capable of pampering and satisfying even the most demanding customer.
The ground floor, where oak is the protagonist, is dedicated to clothing, women, and styled the brand’s most iconic furnishings:
The basement, where cedar will characterize the rooms, hosts a space dedicated to men’s clothing, with wardrobes, walk-in wardrobes, and a lounge area with a bar cabinet and herbal tea room.
Curiosity, tap in the lounge runs no ordinary water. It runs boiling water, for the herbal teas experiences.
2 – The Apartment Suite
On the first floor, where the maple tree stands out, the Suite explodes in its uniqueness. A space that is a real apartment, all signed Ludovica Mascheroni, where leather and marble rule, hosting the dining space with a retractable kitchen, the living space with sofas, armchairs and a new model of the home automation library, as well as an artistic boiserie. Of course, it is not an apartment without a bathroom and a bedroom, which hold even more wonder. This concept is a wonderful marriage of advanced technology, Italian exclusive design, and conceptual spaces that deserve a paragraph on its own.
The picture above shows the dining room area with the retractable kitchen on the right and the automation library on the back. The table is a special product and we will give a closer look at it in the next part of this article.
The idea of the library is that of a digital archive, a real home automated bookcase where books are stored in white leather cases. The digital archive of the library where all books are indexed can be accessed through the tv, the screen that dominates the library. Once selected what you are looking for, the technological device will comfortably output the desired volume.
The retractable kitchen offers compactness and elegance at the same time.
The living room is an open space, facing the dining area. Here the dominating tones are those of leather and tobacco, with sofas, armchairs and tables in typical Italian minimalistic style.
The element that stands out in the living room area, is for sure the boiserie, dedicated to the Castello Sforzesco, Milan’s castle, in bleached maple, leather, nubuck, bronzed brass and Calacatta Altissimo marble.
The bedroom is luxurious, in shades of blush pink with a double bed, bedside tables and dresser, clothes hangers, bleached maple, nubuck and linen paneling coordinate the sense of exclusivity, together with a precious hand-painted wallpaper.¨
Among the most particular objects, the wooden caskets for storing the finest garments with cylinders soaked in perfumed fragrances are definitely worth the mention. Finally, the bathroom in white moon travertine marble, from floor to ceiling, including shelves and pocket doors.
3 – The great details that you should not miss
- the sculpture table by Ludovica Mascheroni in Calacatta Altissimo marble and crystal
This elegant piece of furniture is made up of 14 columns, each with a weight ranging from 40 to 60 kilos, made from a single block of Calacatta Altissimo marble, subsequently shaped and joined together with an oval design on a hidden brass base.
The marble, inside the columns, was deliberately left rough, inspired by Michelangelo’s unfinished technique, while the exterior is in a glossy finish.
The final result is a real marble sculpture with sinuous lines. A game of elegant contrasts between the body of the marble and the visual lightness of the glass top.
Refined and impressive, this sculpture table best represents the work of the company’s precious artisan hands, capable of creating real works of art.
- the walk-in closets with ozone sanitation system and the trunk for jerseys, wool and pullovers
Located in the basement, the closet that stores men’s fashion is an authentic piece of modernity that can be adapted to every context and has elements of technology that are slowly becoming standards: it is equipped with antibacterial and antiviral sanitation.
Certified ozone treatments are capable of disinfecting and sterilizing environments from all types of pathogens, viruses and bacteria up to 99.8% and without leaving residues. Ozone is recognized by the WHO as a powerful disinfectant device: this powerful natural gas, according to many scientific studies and research, is the most effective solution for the disinfection of contaminated environment.
The sanitizing trunk for sweaters, pullovers and similar, [pictures above], comes with the same characteristics as the closet, but it adds caskets in different essences and a set of tools to preserve the knitwear.
- the sewing kit
The extra luxury sewing kit is a useful, beautiful and sustainable gift: in fact, it was a must for Christmas 2021. A topic that is more current than ever and that finds space in a fashion idea devoted to quality and its conservation. A fashion that “is not thrown away but repaired”. And the Ludovica Mascheroni sewing kit was designed precisely for this noble purpose.
Handmade by the company’s artisans, it has all the necessary items for repairing garments: pincushion, needles, thimble, wooden spools with threads of different colors, sewing scissors, leather tape measure, tailor’s chalk. A small chest for the repair of garments that becomes an elegant piece of furniture finished with care in every detail.
It is available in three versions:
- Canaletto walnut and eucalyptus, covered in leather;
- “Pinstripe” in eucalyptus and oak [The “pinstripe” effect is given by the alternation of the color of the wood, the result of the skill of the company’s artisans -ed];
- Bleached oak and leather upholstery;
Palladium brass hinges and leather handles are common elements of all three versions.
4 – The news for 2022: le Blanc by Ludovica Mascheroni
For the beginning of 2022, and specifically thinking of Valentine’s day, Ludovica Mascheroni signs “Le Blanc”, an elegant Champagne trunk for romantic tête-à-tête toasts.
The “Le Blanc” Champagne trunk was designed to celebrate special moments, just as special is the attention to the smallest details, the search for the finest materials, the care and passion that Ludovica Mascheroni employs in each creation.
This Champagne trunk is a small casket of high craftsmanship and skillful Italian manufacturing. It has the appearance of a suitcase covered in leather, the interior of the trunk is made of fine bleached oak. Corners, latch, handle, hinges and bottle closure cap are in palladium brass.
