Florence, January 10th 2018. On the occasion of the 93rd Edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, Loretta Caponi, the Florentine atelier, famous for its royal clientele and for its craftsmanship specialized in luxury lingerie, lounge wear, home wear and linens, presents the new Fall-Winter Menswear Collection 2018-19 in its historical boutique in Piazza Antinori.

This season, Caponi is inspired by the pure yet fancy lines of the Thirties: a couture allure that shapes a luxury wardrobe for a modern gentleman.

The 32 looks collection includes silk satin pajamas, tuxedo jackets and lavish velvet robes, printed with vintage patterns coming directly from Lucia Caponi’s private collection.

Following the tradition of the Brand, several embroidered pieces are of course part of the elegant offer: the precious materials are in fact not only embossed or quilted but also embroidered with leopards, crowns and gold leaves. The embroidery technique is “punto catenella” from the 19th century and the color palette dives deep into blacks, dark blue-greens with touches of red and gold.

The most iconic piece of the collection is a mink collar velvet jacket suitable for the intimacy of a bedroom but also for a gala night over a tuxedo.

“Home wear becomes outwear and most part of the looks can be also an elegant outdoor possibility ” said Creative Director Lucia Caponi, Loretta Caponi’s daughter. “Our clients often wear pajamas during social events as our pieces are fluid yet structured with a timeless appeal and strong personality”.

The Loretta Caponi story started in 1967 with the opening of  her first shop in Borgo Ognissanti.

Merging a sensibility with both local Florentine and Italian cultures, she soon began to emerge and revolutionize the international market using materials such as cotton, linen and silk at a time when fashion was defined by synthetics and nylon. Since then, the Loretta Caponi brand has established itself at both the national and international levels, always succeeding to anticipate industry trends and fashions.

Loretta Caponi passed away three years ago, entrusting the bottega to her daughter Lucia whom was by her side for over thirty years learning the secrets of Haute Couture and art of embroidery  from her legendary mother. Today, under the guidance and creativity of Lucia, the company is helmed by Guido – Loretta’s grandson – who continues to steer the brand with passion and enthusiasm with a futuristic vision; a desire to bring new generations together by offering a more contemporary collection without compromising the high quality materials or time-honored craft of embroidery.

The atelier overlooks the prestigiuos Via Tornabuoni and is a place where one can appreciate the wonders of high fashion lingerie, handcrafted products, and the elegance of bed wear for her and for him. The shop is stupefying with over 850 square meters that house both the sales and production: a workshop and warehouse where customers can browse the vast selection of preciuos fabrics and the immanent discover by entering this timeless, magical world.
