Grand Tasting featuring Culinary Demonstrations presented by Liebherr Appliances
At Hudson River Park’s Pier 76 New York City, on a perfect sunny day, this massive event was held with class and great energy.
Upon arrival, we could notice right away this was going to be a marathon of new experiences and the chefs, liquor representatives, entertainers made sure of it.
Each display was original and true to their brand. Any point of entrance was the correct one. The variety, quality, and dedication result in an experience with no end.
Many liquor brands, presented us with their brand and signature cocktails like High West Distillery from Utah who show us their Old Fashion and Manhattan Barrel Finished Cocktails, next to this beautiful stand was Trusted Veal from Europe, absolutely stunning sample.
This day we had the opportunity to witness the culinary demonstrations presented by LIEBHERR and celebrity chefs like Robert Irvine, Michael Symon, Anne Burrell, Andrew Zimmern, Jet Tila, Geoffrey Zakarian, Jeff Mauro & Katie Lee and Scott Conant.
As our walkthrough began, we encounter MODERN KITCHEN Using an animal-free whey protein cream cheese that has all the creamy deliciousness of regular cream cheese; a bright, light, and refreshing snack.
Florida International University Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management made a presence at this event. Melissa Del Toro, an alumnus of FIU Hospitality and currently the Events Chair for FIU Alumni of Greater New York explains: “The South Beach Wine and Food Festival was started by FIU Hospitality back in 1997. Our students are the only ones in the country to help run the world’s premier wine and food festival. Proceedings from SOBEWFF go directly back to FIU Hospitality and the students. The NYCWFF is a sister festival, where the proceeds from NYCWFF go to God’s Love We Deliver”.
French brand of small snack cheese products Mini Babybel, with a beautiful, peaceful and organic stand display introduces to the public their “Cheese that Grows on Trees”, IBabybel® Plant-Based dairy-free and lactose-free snack, with a smooth texture similar to mozzarella.
Stella Rose Wines had the most beautiful Catrina showing us their Organic Orange Infusion, Stella Rosso and their Lemon Lime Wines.
The Coolest Guys in The Town: Maker’s Mark with their cocktail “Gold Rush” and their Neat Pours of the Original. 46 and Cask Strength.
The Most Welcoming, Jim Bean; Their Stand Was a Home where you can sample the many flavor variations: Apple, Orange, Peach, Honey; their signature and the Black. They also had the Ginger Highball. A Stand that was hard to leave.
Blue Moon had a lounge to relax in the sunny clear sky.
My all-time favorite is CASA DRAGONES, 100% Blue Agave tequila, and offers three types of ultra-premium tequilas: Casa Dragones Joven, Casa Dragones Blanco, and Casa Dragones Añejo, Unbelievable! They explain that this brand is FEMALE-FOUNDED, FEMALE-LED Co-founded and led by CEO Bertha González Nieves, the first female Maestra Tequilera certified by the Academia Mexicana de Catadores de Tequila (Mexican Academy of Tequila Tasters). Although made in Jalisco, Casa Dragones is based in San Miguel de Allende.
On another note, how cool was the Aperol Spritz? The girls were absolutely sweet, kind and energetic.
Hard Rock Hotel NY chef Oscar Gonzalez created this beautiful display inspired by the sea where he presented these beautiful and delicious scallops. Real talent and Charisma!
Kendall Jenner’s Bran 818 Tequila offered a variety of refreshing cocktails and this stand was busy throughout the event.
Coca-Cola made the stand in a very funk van.
Cypress Grove displayed their amazing cheeses that had lines waiting to try them all!
Cowgirl Creamery had delicious and fantastic cheeses as well. Very welcoming and gracious with their Cantina Grilled Cheese featuring Wagon Wheel & Hop Along.
Toyota had a stand with Gemstone Candy, a live DJ and customized Tote Bags.
Remy Cointreau featured Remy Martin 1738, along with The Botanist, Bruichladdich Classic and Island Barley and Port Charlotte Islay Barley.
Popadelic a brand offering a healthy and savory alternative to snacking with crunchy shiitake mushroom chips that are a must-have experience.
My dear Ocean Organic Vodka, transported us to Hawaii, the bottle is so beautiful inspired by “Old glass fishing net ‘floats’. With 40% alcohol and smooth. This is a brand that understands the concept of sustainability and great ingredients. A must-try!
Jameson Orange, what a scenery, vibrant, spacious and fun. This truck had it all!
Del Maguey Mezcal, was amazing as well! Sharing the Santo Domingo, Las Milpas, Chichicapa, Vida de Muertos and the Artisanal.
This is an experience to remember, many brands, and many people displaying and working to present the best of the best. The organizers must be proud and we cannot wait until next year! Bringing the culinary world into the city that never sleeps is the greatest event of the year.
