ICONS by Carine Roitfeld appears in the September issues of all 32 worldwide editions of Harper’s BAZAAR. The First Families of Music portfolio, photographed by Mario Sorrenti, features music royalty and their kin. This year’s portfolio is comprised of music legends and offspring including Bruce Springsteen and his daughter Jessica,Kanye West holding North and Saint, Christina Aguilera with her daughters, Lionel and Nicole Richie, Mariah Carey with her twins, Billie Idol and Bonnie Blue Broad, Paris Jackson, Steven and Liv Tyler, Erykah Badu with her daughters, and TheodoraandAlexandra Richards. Bruce and Jessica Springsteen grace the cover of the U.S. newsstand edition, with Kanye West, North and Saint on the subscriber cover.

Partners for the event included Infor, which has been part of ICONS since the first event in 2014, Stella Artois, returning for the third year, Fujifilm instax®, returning for the second year and new partners Estée Lauder, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Genesis.

Infor, the leading provider of cloud applications for fashion and retail, has returned as a partner for a fifth year, demonstrating its commitment not just to the fashion industry, but also to design excellence from the runway to enterprise software. Building on the work of Infor’s Education Alliance Program (EAP), Infor and Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) have created a design and tech lab (DTech Lab) on FIT’s New York City campus to provide an environment for experiential learning based around innovative technology research and ideation for fashion and related industries. The impact of DTech Lab will be fabulously on display at the event. An FIT student-created, high-fashion, wearable-tech gown—designed and fabricated in the DTech Lab—will be worn on the celebrity-packed red carpet.

Estée Lauder will add its sophistication throughout the ICONS event as a first-time partner. To coincide with the September launch of new Pure Color Desire Rouge Excess Lipstick, guests were invited to wander the Hall of Desires. This interactive photo opportunity is artfully comprised of a mirrored-backdrop and 12-foot lipstick columns that reflect the design of their newest product. Estée Lauder will also provide lip touch ups to celebrity attendees during the evening. Estée Lauder faces including, Karlie Kloss, Carolyn Murphy, Joan Smalls, Grace Elizabeth and Anok Yai, who are expected to be in attendance, will grace the ICONS black carpet.

Saks Fifth Avenue has also joined ICONS this year as the first fashion retail partner. To coincide with the intersection of rock and roll and fashion, guests were greeted by Saks bellmen lining the staircase in branded uniforms and graphic face paint. In the ballroom there will be an immersive photo activation: a minimal, all-white rock stage, featuring Saks Fifth Avenue-branded instruments. The backdrop will be used as a surface for colorful, animated projections, where guests can step in and become their own rock and roll alter ego.

Fujifilm instax®, who has joined ICONS for a second year, provided an integrative experience for guests throughout the event. To commemorate the launch of the FUJIFILM INSTAX SQUARE® SQ6, which is the first SQUARE format analog camera in the instax instant camera line, a custom backdrop display in the ballroom foyer will host a collection of the new cameras. Guests were invited to take a camera from the custom instax wall, which perfectly reflects the Pearl White, Blush Gold and Graphite Gray SQ6 color selections, and replace with their instax prints. A dimensional, faux “infinity” mirror created with white light tubes and rose gold frames, emulates the instax’s square shape and will serve as a chic and interactive photo opportunity for the black tie rebel-clad party goers. On the way to the ballroom, guests walked through the Fujfilm gallery which will showcase large-scale versions of stunning photographs from the September issue of Harper’s BAZAAR, produced by the Fujifilm Graphic Systems Division, and featured on the cover and inside the portfolio.

Genesis has joined ICONS for its inaugural integration. The first-ever, critically-acclaimed G70 luxury sport sedan was showcased outside of The Plaza hotel’s grand Fifth Avenue entrance. Celebrity guests may pose for photos with the G70, ahead of its anticipated debut in showrooms this fall. In addition, chauffeur-driven Genesis G90 flagship sedans will transfer VIP celebrity guests to and from the event in effortless comfort. Genesis is driven by culture…the culture of ICONS.

Stella Artois has joined the prestigious publication for the third year in a row to help host an evening worth savoring. This summer Stella Artois has sought to inspire people to savor life’s simple pleasures, and this evening is the perfect way for guests to slow down and enjoy the moment at one of the week’s most anticipated events. At two custom designed bars for the occasion, guests can enjoy Stella Artois, the classic Belgian lager, Stella Artois Cidre, a perfectly balanced cider, and a specialty cocktail created for the evening called the Stella Artois Cidre ICONic Tonic, which infuses gin, tonic water and pineapple juice, and is topped with Stella Cidre, a dash of Jamaican bitters and a mint sprig garnish. The cocktail is perfectly served in limited-edition #BAZAARICONS-branded Chalices and glasses. Stella Artois will also provide delicious, late night bites for the stylish crowd.

Belvedere Vodka served signature cocktails curated by the brand’s lead mixologist, Brian Stewart, to complement the theme, which are aptly named, Legacy, Rock ‘n’ Royalty, Iconic and Limited Edition. Moët & Chandon served as the official champagne for the evening and for the first time, guests had the opportunity to receive custom, personalized miniature Moët & Chandon bottles.
