The Botanist presents Flavors of the Mediterranean hosted by Michael Symon
part of the LIVEHAPPilly series presented by illy caffè

At Industry City, Brooklyn’s hottest new event spaceNew York City’s finest Mediterranean restaurants came together to serve up fantastic appetizers.
Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome from illy caffè had us in love with the pleasant aroma of their coffee beans, as they made delicious espressos, cappuccinos, and lattes: Mohegan Sun’s, and incredible lemon sorbet.
We got the opportunity to get to know this fantastic advocate for the culinary arts, The celebrity chef Michael Symon, he was sympathetic and courteous, with a lively personality with overwhelming talent.
We continued the tasting and met the delightful TASCA, by chefs Jay and Norisa Espinal who presented us a divine Leg of Lamb in Tajada of Maduros with Garnacha Glaze and Tomatillo Infusion; that brought us back to the Caribbean.
We also had the opportunity to meet chef Valentine Howell from Krasi Mezze & Wine, a Cool destination supplying contemporary Greek specialties & wines in industrial-chic surroundings from Boston, MA. He was vibrant and dance the night away with the guests.
Stellina Ristorante with chef Fabrizio Facchini along with his team presented us with a Cripsy Stelliina Tuna Tartare, fresh, earthy, and clean. We must go to Long Island with them, curious about what else they have in their restaurant as superb as this tasting.
Tastings from 100 Harvest LA SCOLCA, Herederos del Marquez de Rical and The Pale; made the night feel like a freshing Mediterranean Summer Night. We loved it!
The Botanist Bar, shared the famous Espresso Cocktail, the Botanist & Tonic, Citrus Highball, and Metaxa; which were hit after hit.
Above all, the event was a triumph!
We must thank the organizers, chefs, and staff for their and dedication making this experience, one to remember.
