Shangti possesses an extraordinary talent for translating his art pieces into scenic performances entirely imagined by him. One of his captivating installations from ‘The Luxury Dinner’ series is the photograph ‘Luxury Fifth Dinner’. It delves into themes of opulence and excess encouraging viewers to question the allure of materialism and societal obsession with appearances. Shangti’s masterful use of symbols challenges our perceptions of wealth and beauty, sparking a dialogue about authenticity in a consumer-driven world.
Another photograph featured in the exhibit is ‘Ultimate Luxury Envy’ part of Shangti’s recent collection ‘SEVEN’ which reimagines the seven deadly sins. ‘Ultimate Luxury Envy’ explores the corrosive nature of envy. Through the depiction of a goddess and a majestic peacock, Philippe Shangti aims to highlight the destructive consequences of jealousy. By juxtaposing symbols of desire and beauty he prompts viewers to consider the impact of envy on both individual and collective behavior.
Also included in the exhibit are several signed ‘tag’ works such as the famous pieces ‘Live Your Best Life’ and ‘If You Don’t Think I’m The Boss Get Out’. This series presents a unique fusion of contemporary art and the visual language of graffiti. Philippe Shangti explores the idea of freedom of expression and raw creativity with short provocative phrases that evoke stories, emotions or claims.
Shangti’s diverse portfolio spans limited edition sculptures, conceptual artworks, and captivating photographs. Exhibited in esteemed galleries in Europe and the USA. Shangti’s art invites us to engage in meaningful reflection and dialogue about the complexities of our world.
