The 1908s was a pivotal time for Italian fashion. It was the decade when major brands from Milan emerged from the shadows of the couture houses in Paris and Rome that were still plying overtly romantic confections that have little to do with the lives of the modern women.  At that point, the finest of ready-to-wear was easily recognizable with a label that read “Made in Italy”. And arguably, that has yet to be challenged.  It was in 1988 when Morena Bragagnolo and Paolo Mason Plissé S.p.A. to capture their sophisticated take on Italian style that respected the traditions of craftsmanship while looking ahead to the future. From Plissè S.p.A. came two lines – Sfizio and Beatrice .b – both dedicated to defining a new era in fashion.

Thirty years later, Beatrice .b is celebrating its milestone by revisiting and re-imagining iconic pieces from its archives with a capsule offering called “Heritage .b”. These key pieces blend the brand’s past and present with two iconic dresses that feature its signature pleats and three legacy prints in a trench and a top. Taken as a whole, the limited-edition “Heritage .b” collection is a snapshot of the brand’s decades long journey from its roots to worldwide acclaim in the US, the Middle East, Russia, Europe and the Balkans. Along the way, the brand also made a point of increasing its increasingly environmentally-responsible trajectory. The pleating is already hand crafted but other in-house intiatives are in place to create with fabrics from 100% recycled raw materials. The capsule collection also includes an eco-friendly faux leather bag as a frontrunner to more accessories from the brand.

The brand takes exceptional pride in the family-owned and operated team that now includes the next generation. Morena and Paolo’s daughter Beatrice is co-designer with her mom and has been responsible for giving the line an unmistakably young perspective. And to signal their intent to chart a continuous momentum of growth, the brand also announced the soon-to-open flagship in Italy this Fall. Here’s looking toward the next thirty years of this exceptional line of elegant women’s wear.
