Men’s Fashion Week is up and running in Milan and in this surprisingly only four days long week, presentations pop up in the city to captivate visitors with new ideas for the Fall/Winter season 2019.
Of all these presentations, Andrea Pompilio’s urban style has the ability to stand out for its playful approach to menswear.
“Liebe ist für alle da”, love is for everyone, is this collection’s manifesto, that you can also read on the scarfs presented at the headquarter in via Procaccini. The German statement is not only beautiful in its meaning, but it also reveals the Berlinese inspiration. The goal to present a next-generation tailoring with raw attitude, is a promise that Pompilio has definitely kept.
The line is a combination of streetwear, sleepwear and classic wardrobe clashing into post-modernist vibes. Definitely fun to mix, with detachable k-way hoods, exaggerated shapes, raver jackets with contrasting v-shaped nylon insets, colorful sweaters and pop-colored corduroy.
A very successful choice is the super-sized outwear, in particular the coats are outstanding and received praises from all visitors.
Parkas and jackets summon the 90’s without being nostalgic, and military-looking double breasted jackets combine well with plus-size shirts. All in the name of a playful urban identity.
Finally a designer that makes it possible to define individuality by mixing styles with relaxed silhouettes staying edgy. The line has attitude but it’s happy in its colors with unexpected solutions, like raw-cut winter shorts.
The collection is paired with scraped lace-up combat boots, military sneaks in canvas, suede and rubberized leather, and chunky strap slippers in heavy casentino wools. These ones incredibly soft and warm to the touch.
Andrea Pompilio is to be praised at this men’s fashion week for his choice: a youthful, international and playful with attitude urban collection.
But that is not all he had to surprise us with: just outside his headquarter, you could see and test the Helbiz electric scooters from the limited edition “Andrea Pompilio for Helbiz”.
A joint vision on the themes of speed innovation and love for Milano brought to the collaboration between Helbiz and the designer. Since he dedicated his collection to the urban concept, Helbiz asked him to design the outlook for a limited series of electric scooters. A concept that blends an innovative service with the concept of Pompilio’s new collection. Helbiz, offering a greener and faster way to shorten distances, is enriching the city with new tools and both together make it more of a home for the citizens of the world.
Milan was just awarded the Wallpaper Magazine Design Award for best city 2019 and is considered the second most attractive in Europe after Porto. Let’s not forget that it is also thanks to the people who love it and invest on making it better, like Andrea and everyone at Helbiz, that this city is getting all eyes on us. The key to success is maybe just all there: love your home, be happy and use both to communicate your vision.
To celebrate the collaboration with the designer, Helbiz provided its service for free to all those who attended the fall/winter presentation. The electric scooters signed by Andrea Pompilio can already be found everywhere around the city.
