Miami Swim Week, the place to spot the hottest upcoming swimwear trends. This season we saw an array of swimwear options, including a tap into the athleisure lifestyle.
After KAOHS simple yet edgy show, we chatted with the designers. Ali Hoffmann and Tess Hamilton are an example of adding versatility to their designs by mixing surf, skate and boho styles. Today’s consumer is always on-the-go, many women want functionality with fashion statements. Stylish and multi-purpose are in!
Tie the Knot
Speaking of front to back, some swimsuits were often cut very high. Although some designers opted to add more bottom coverage, like Acacia, many showcased a high V-cut.
Shoulder Game Strong
While the off-the-shoulder trend was present, next year we are making room to one shoulder options. It’s a fresh, flirty and fun trend. Who’s ready?
During the spring/summer season, we pull out our bright colors but usually still stick with our neutrals. During this year’s Miami Swim Week, brands that are usually known for more natural tones, Acacia, Minimale Animale and KAOHS, popped some colors.
As KAOHS designers said, we tend to stay away from bright colors and this time we went bright.
Mix and Match
While looking sleek and polish makes us feel sophisticated, swim designers like KAOHS opened up to creativity. “Every year we try to keep it fresh and what girls are liking, but still staying true to ourselves,” said KAOHS. It’s time to rock mismatched colors, prints or textures. Invest in great pieces and switch them up!
For Love and Lemons and Gottex showcased straps around the mid-section, which added a stylish touch to the look. For those sun bums make sure you double up on sunscreen. Although the fashion statement is great, we don’t want awkward tan lines.
